Viewing GIG Documents

Many of GIG's documents have been saved in the Adobe Portable Document Format (or PDF). This ensures that the document you see is very close to the original. To view these documents you will require the Adobe Acrobat Reader. To download it free of charge over the internet click on the icon below and follow the instructions.

To unzip or extract a file or folder:

  1. Download and save the file or folder to your computer
  2. Right click on the file or folder icon on your computer
  3. Choose "extract all"
  4. Follow the instructions on the wizard help

Saving GIG's documents to your hard drive

After you download a PDF file to your hard drive, you can view them later without connecting to the internet.

Internet Explorer and AOL for Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0

To download a PDF file from a link:

  1. Right-click the link to a PDF file, then choose Save Link As (Internet Explorer 3.x) or Save Target As (Internet Explorer 4.x or 5.0 or AOL) from the pop-up menu.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard drive, then click Save.

To download an open PDF file (Internet Explorer 3.x or earlier only):

  1. Choose File > Save As.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard drive, then click Save.

Netscape Navigator for Windows

To download a PDF file from a link:

  1. Right-click the link to a PDF file, then choose Save Link As from the pop-up menu.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard disk, then click Save.

To download an open PDF file:

  1. Choose File > Save As.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard disk, then click Save.

Internet Explorer for Mac OS

To download a PDF file from a link:

  1. Click and hold the mouse on the link to a PDF file, then choose Download Link To Disk from the pop-up menu.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard disk, then click Save.

To download a PDF file from a link:

  1. Position the mouse cursor on the link to a PDF file, hold the mouse button down, then choose Save This Link As from the pop-up menu.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard disk, then click Save.

Netscape Navigator for Mac OS

To download an open PDF file:

  1. Choose File > Save As.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, select a location on your hard disk, then click Save.
