Projects - Family Risk, Common Cancers and People from Minority Ethnic Groups

The project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund Research Programme and will be led by GIG in partnership with the Division of Primary Care at the University of Nottingham.

Through this project we aim to identify why people from minority ethnic groups with a significant family history of cancer are less likely to access clinical genetics services than the mainstream UK population. We also aim to inform the development of interventions that will improve access to clinical genetics services for people from minority ethnic groups.
The project will begin in 2009.
