Projects - Insurance TemplatesThe Asking Relevant Questions project is a two year research initiative funded by Bupa. The project is building on the Patient Supplementary Questionnares that have been developed and piloted by GIG which aim to ensure only the correct information is presented to the insurer at point of application. This therefore speeds up the application process negating the need for expensive and time consuming GP reports, whilst also making the whole process more transparent for the consumer. GIG is now exploring ways to expand these to include further genetic disorders and other insurance products like travel. The aim of the project is to improve the interaction between insurance companies and applicants with complex medical conditions with a view to making the application process easier and quicker for all involved. We have created a helpful guidance leaflet to assist consumers in accessing Travel Insurance which can be found by clicking HERE We are working with the ABI, Insurance Companies and various patient member groups to ensure that the templates are as efficient as possible. Initial trials have demonstrated the cost effectiveness and time savings which can be achieved through widespread usage. We are also in the process of collating feedback from 9 different patient groups including
We are assessing individual experiences of applying for insurance products to ensure that the templates are as effective as possible. The project has now been running for a year and you can read about some of the key research findings at this halfway stage HERE If you feel you could contribute to this project or have any views in regards to this subject please get in contact ben
