Assistant Director

As GIG's Assistant Director I support the Director and Trustee Board in the development, implementation and delivery of the Genetic Interest Group policy and communication strategies.

I manage various GIG projects including the Facilitating Networks Project, Insurance Project, Patient Partner Project and Patient Engagement Project and I also work as part of GIG's Policy and Public Affairs team along with our Policy Analyst and Public Affairs Assistant. 

Accompanying my management duties I also have overall responsibility for communication activities at GIG.

Main areas of work in communications include:

• Developing and maintaining strategies that enable GIG to communicate effectively with our members / scientific community / politicians / the media and the general public.
• Responsibility for the production of GIG reports and publications. This includes our quarterly newsletter "GIG TODAY" and our Annual Review.
• Maintaining and supporting the development of the GIG website
• Responsibly for overseeing the organisation of GIG events including the Annual GIG conference.
