Wales / Cymru Development Officer

Main areas of work are:

• Generate and communicate a patient and family viewpoint on policy and practice relating to the development of medical genetics services in Wales by bringing together individuals, representatives of charities, support groups and other voluntary bodies.
• Inform the political and professional discussions about the services and resources needed to provide high quality medical genetic services for the future.
• Contribute to the development of education and training initiatives for health care professionals in Wales to ensure their understanding of genetic issues as they impact on families and individuals.
• Liaise and interact between the GIG (UK) office and the Wales Gene Park. Ensure coherence and continuity of policy and practice as far as possible.

• Cyfarthrebu safbwyntiau unigolion a theuluoedd ar bolisiau ac ymarferiadau sy'n gysylltiedig a datblygiad gwasanaethau geneteg feddygol yng Nghymru, ac yn gwneud hyn drwy weithio âg elusennau, grwpiau cyswllt a chorfforaethau gwirfoddol.
• Hysbysu'r drafodaeth wleidyddol a phroffesiynol am anghenion ac adnoddau er mwyn darparu a datblygu gwasanaethau geneteg feddygol i'r dyfodol.
• Cyfrannu at raglenni addysgu gweithwyr gofal iechyd a sicrhau eu bod â dealltwriaeth o effeithiau materion geneteg ar deuluoedd ac unigolion.
• Cydweithio â swyddfa GBG (DU) a Pharc Geneteg Cymru. Sicrhau cysondeb ar bolisiau ac ymarferiadau.
