Senior Research and Policy Manager

Objective is to develop GIG's policy and research activities and support the Policy Officer (Nick Meade), the Scottish Development Officer (Gillian Scott) and European Project Officers (Celine Lewis and Alex McKeown).

Main areas of work are: 

• Influencing UK policy through a variety of means including responding to government consultations, lobbying policy makers directly on issues important to GIG members and providing information and advice on request.
  
  
• Supporting health service development, for example regionally through expanding GIG's presence in Scotland, and by pursuing opportunities to carry out research involving patient input and that will lead directly to patient benefit.

NB - Amy will be on maternity leave from the end of April 2008
