Project Officer - Insurance "Asking Relevant Questions" Project

Main areas of work are: 
  • This project is building on insurance templates that have been piloted by GIG and proved successful.  We are now expanding these templates to include further genetic disorders and other insurance products. The aim of the project is to improve the interaction between insurance companies and applicants with complex medical conditions.
  • Work with patient groups and the Association of British Insurers, as well as individual insurance companies and government bodies such as the Genetics and Insurance Committee and the Department of Health,  in order to gain a broader understanding of how insurance products are sold.
  • Produce patient information, templates and guidelines on a selection of insurance products to help assist patients, with particular conditions when they are looking for insurance cover.
